Hello Parents of Fall Beginners!

Welcome to Webster Youth Hockey! 1st session is Wednesday 10/3 6-7 PM.

Some info for all parents about the program:

1.) The beginner Fall website is: www.wyha.com/group/beginners/2018-19/beg...

2.) EQUIPMENT NEEDED: At a minimum, the participants need a certified hockey helmet with wire cage face mask, elbow/knee pads (inline are ok), hockey gloves, a straight blade ice hockey stick and single blade hockey skates. Players should wear sweatpants (or similar) underneath hockey gear. Each Beginner player will receive a jersey & hockey socks as part of the program. Play It Again Sports in Southtown Plaza in Henrietta usually has good deals on used equipment. If you wish to purchase new equipment, try Locker Room Sports in Greece, Dick's Sporting Goods or online.

3.) The Fall Beginner program meets on Wednesday at 6-7 PM and Saturdays 9-10 AM at Webster Ice Arena. The schedule is on the website mentioned in 1.) above.

4.) Please arrive 15-30 minutes early to dress your child and for announcements. Generally Beginners use the open Foyer area to put on their skates/equipment. Players should have their first name printed on a piece of hockey tape on the FRONT of their helmet (all the kids look alike in helmets - this helps the coaches!).

5.) Players who have not yet submitted a SCANNED Copy of their Birth Certificate or Passport to Jeanne Barreca at registrar@wyha.com should do so ASAP as these are required for age verification with USA Hockey.

6.) Your Head Coach is Jeff Corriveau and his staff of assistants. We hope several parents will complete the USA Hockey/Webster registration and training requirements to become On Ice Helpers also. Look under the RESOURCES tab, then under FOR COACHES for information on becoming an On Ice Helper. Only registered coaches and On Ice Helpers may skate per USA Hockey regulations.

Any questions, please feel free to contact me or Jeff.
