The Webster Youth Hockey House/Empire program is a competitive program for the established skater between the ages of 7 and 18. Players in this program will skate an average of twice per week at various times, mostly on weekends. Teams will compete with other area organizations in the Empire Amateur Hockey Conference (EAHC). The program emphasizes the development of individual skills, as well as team play, respect for all players, and sportsmanship.
  • The Squirt and Peewee House program teams are divided into “A” and “B” divisions. Players will be placed in those divisions based on the skill demonstrated at an evaluation session in April.  Evaluations at the Bantam and Midget levels will be used to fairly split up players into even teams consistent with EAHC rules.
  • Players not attending an evaluation session are not guaranteed placement on an "A" team. Such players may be used to fill available space on any team.
  • All participants are required to have full hockey equipment including a certified hockey helmet with face mask, a neck guard, shoulder pads, elbow pads, gloves, hockey pants, shin guards, single blade hockey skates, socks and an ice hockey stick.
  • Teams with more than one goalie are a possibility. In the event that this occurs, goalies will share playing time. No refund will be given.
  • The House programs will begin in September after Labor Day and run through March for one fee.  House fees include practice time, uniform (jersey and socks), league fees, and home game ice/referees.  Approximately 60 sessions of ice (practices and games/playoffs) with an exact count depending on whether the team coaching staff decides to play additional games beyond the league season. Teams may decide to play in Tournaments at an additional cost.
  • Registered players should refer to our website in late August for first practice information and team assignments.

Empire House Evaluations Completed! What Happens Now? for 2017-18 Season

Hello everyone,

First off thank you to all of the volunteers that helped make our house evaluations run so smoothly. Without our volunteers WYHA would not exist.

So now that house evals are complete what happens next?

  1. We can start to determine how many teams we may have in each division. (RWB, Squirt, Pee Wee, Bantam and Midget.)
  2. We will contact coaches to help place players on teams based on the evaluation and the coaches end of season evaluations (if on a WYHA team last year).
  3. Registration will open up in June and players must be registered and paid by July 31st to be placed on a team. Teams will be announced sometime in mid to late August. Our goal is to announce the teams as soon as possible so coaches and parents can plan for the season ahead.
  4. If you did not make evaluations that is ok. Make sure to register for the upcoming 2017-2018 season and your player will be placed on a team. The VP of House will contact you to discuss your player and he/she will be properly placed on a team.
  5. Practices typically begin in September with August off ice training for some. Games start in mid to late October.
  6. Look for an email about Registration opening in June and other new, exciting announcements.

2015-16 Empire Achievements

WYHA had a great season in Empire during the 2015-16 Season!

Some of our team's achievements include:

Peewee 1: Finished 1st in the PW A division with a 13-2-1 record! Won the PW A Playoffs!  See the picture below!

Bantam 1: Won the Bantam B Playoffs! See the picture below!

Peewee 2: After an 8th place regular season finish, they won their 1st playoff game by a dominating score of 8-1. Then in their next game they tied the #1 seed in regulation and lost a very tight shootout to finish their Empire season.  This team also finished a very Strong 3rd (out of 6) at Boulter and then finished 2nd at the End of Season Brockport Tournament.  Our most improved team!

Squirt B: Squirt 1 finished 11-3-2 and in third place in Empire and Squirt 2 finished 9-3-4 and in fifth place out of twelve teams.  A very impressive improvement for these young teams!
