Colin Montesano Scholarship

Colin Montesano played youth hockey at Webster for 13 years. He passed away back in 2017. Colin's family would like to be able to “pay it forward” to other families in the organization by helping with their hockey dues. We would like to award scholarships to players experiencing temporary financial hardship.

Where

The Colin Montesano Foundation has been raising money to fund scholarships to hockey players at Webster Youth Hockey in the Empire House/Pony programs. This foundation is hoping to make this scholarship program an annual program assuming fundraising efforts are successful. One of the Colin Montesano Foundation fundraisers is the annual Thomas-Schroeder Alumni Hockey game held each season at the holidays.

Additional Costs

Only returning Webster Youth Hockey Players are eligible for this scholarship (i.e. players who played at WYHA in the 2022-23season). Two 1/2 price scholarships will be offered to players who apply via this registration.

Ages

Open to players who would like to play in the Empire House or Pony programs at Webster Youth Hockey whose families are experiencing temporary financial difficulties.

2020-21

Applications for the Colin Montesano scholarship are based on financial need and are only open to returning Empire House or Pony players.

Applications are due ASAP.  Once two scholarships are awarded this registration will close.

Also, the USA Hockey Relief Fund will cover the cost of USA Hockey registration ($46 of it).  To apply go here by 11/15: https://www.usahockeyfoundation.com/page/show/5903915-membership-relief-fund
